Ballet Value, Pt. 1
Do Your Parents See Value in their Children's Ballet Classes?
So why is showing value so important? Let's face it, parents have LOTS of options for extracurricular activities these days, even for pre-school-aged children and younger! By the time my first son was one, he had already taken swimming and gymnastics! While at a young age, most extracurricular activities provide a lot of the same benefits to children (social interaction, following instructions, etc.), not every activity is going to tell parents what those benefits are. So if parents ever have to choose between ballet and soccer or gymnastics or swimming, we want them to know the value of a ballet education so that they are more likely to choose ballet (obviously, right!?).
Once we get them in the door, we really want parents to see the value in pre-ballet and beginning ballet classes for their child for better student retention. Especially when it comes time for them to pay monthly tuition or to re-enroll, we want them to be able to see the benefits so clearly that there's no question in their mind that their money is being well spent and they want to sign their child up again and again! Showing parents the value of a ballet education for their student will do wonders for your student retention.
Showing parents value will also help you get more students in the door. How? As parents, we all LOVE to brag about our children. So let's give parents something to brag about. When parents know what their children are learning and accomplishing in ballet class, they are much more likely to tell other parents about it, providing a little word-of-mouth marketing for your studio!
So let's recap. Why is it so important that parents see value in signing their child up for pre-ballet or beginning ballet classes at your studio?
- To set your pre-ballet and beginning ballet classes apart from the so many other extracurricular activities available to young children.
- To retain more of your current students.
- To gain FREE word-of-mouth marketing from your current parents to help get more new students in the door.
Stay tuned next week for part two of this post: How to get parents to see the value in pre-ballet and beginning ballet classes!
