In this community, you’ll find everything you’ll need next, plus a few extra goodies for teaching ballet to ages 7+. Once Upon a Ballet
Maintaining Certification
Now that you’ve passed the course, maintaining certification is super easy! All you have to do is continue to continue to be a member with us at the Principal or Director level. As long as you’re a member, you’ll maintain your certification.

Story Ballet Curriculum
Our Story Ballet Curriculum gives you 24 months of progressive ballet class lesson plans for ages 7 to 12 years old, split across four levels. It also gives you ballet synopsis and history write-ups for 24 different ballet stories, and a set of ballet class exercises and activities themed to each ballet story. This lets you plug whatever ballet you choose into your classes during any given month. This curriculum also gives you pre-pointe and dance conditioning lessons.
Modern Artists Dance Curriculum
This curriculum introduces modern and contemporary dance through pioneering modern artists. Class lesson plans rotate through six modern dance artists, exploring their styles and learning about their contributions to modern and contemporary dance:

- Doris Humphrey
- Lester Horton
- Charles Weidman
- José Limón

In addition, you or your studio may use the following language regarding your teacher certification. Please choose the language that reflects your current certification level.
“[I am/name is] a Once Upon a Ballet Certified Teacher in Elementary Ballet.”
Additional language that may be used to describe Once Upon a Ballet:
“Once Upon a Ballet is a children's dance curriculum rooted in early childhood development theory and teaches dance in a way that young children learn best. It teaches age-appropriate dance concepts and skills and is full of imagination and creativity. It is specifically designed to give your child a strong foundation in learning, movement, and dance.”
Logos
As a Once Upon a Ballet Certified Teacher, you may use the Once Upon a Ballet Certified Teacher logos on your resume or bio. Your studio or the studio you teach at may use the logos on their website, newsletter, emails, and social media.
