A Year of Fairy Tales combines imaginative storytelling with age-appropriate ballet foundations and creative movement. Each lesson takes students inside a familiar story as they practice ballet steps, explore movement concepts, travel across the floor, learn story dances, and use their imaginations.

Made for Preschool Dance Teachers

These lessons were created specifically for the developmental needs of dancers ages 3 to 5. Ballet foundations and creative movement are introduced through imagery, stories, music, and movement rather than simply adapting an older child's ballet class for younger students.

Props are simple and optional, using items many studios already have on hand such as scarves, ribbons, hoops, mats, and tiaras.

Use It All Year Long

Choose one fairy tale every 3 to 4 weeks, coordinate stories with the seasons, or simply let your dancers choose their favorites. With 12 different themes and alternate activities throughout the collection, you'll have plenty of material to carry your preschool classes through the dance year.
